About Us

Fruits of Thought is a collection of projects with the common mission to increase a more valuable and practical usage of internet by stimulating sharing information and collaboration within communities.

Information can only grow into knowledge if people are allowed to ask questions and are given the opportunity to think.

We have set up educational programs whereby youth from informal settlements and graduated but often unemployed students, are trained in web development, mapping, design, entrepreneurship and marketing.

In a friendly and open environment we try to stimulate creativity, build self esteem, develop technical skills and undertake income generating activities to empower a new generation in Uganda.

Fruits of Thought is located in the heart of Kampala and works closely together with Mountbatten Ltd.

Mountbatten is an ICT company and serving East-Africa in web hosting, automating systems and organisational development technologies. Besides, Mountbatten is leading when it comes to using Drupal (CMS), Open Data and Geo Mapping in Uganda.

This unique combination of being on the ground and having a good insight in the latests open source developments enables us to come up with innovative and on the edge poverty reducing solutions.
